Wellness tourism is transforming how people travel, combining relaxation with health-focused experiences. Millions of tourists now seek rejuvenation and well-being during their vacations. Thailand is well-positioned to capitalise on this health movement, thanks to a new wellness tourism research project led by Siriraj Hospital in partnership with Mahidol University. This initiative, supported by national-level funding (referred to as BPOK), strives to elevate Thailand as a global leader in the wellness tourism sector.

As Thailand's oldest and most prestigious hospital, Siriraj Hospital contributes valuable medical expertise to the research. Together with Mahidol University’s strong educational and research background, both institutions are poised to bring fresh ideas and solutions to wellness tourism.

As this initiative unfolds, tourists worldwide can anticipate enhanced wellness experiences that benefit their health and contribute to the sustainable growth of local communities. Ultimately, the insights gained through this research will fortify Thailand's competitive edge in wellness tourism, ensuring that it continues to be a top choice for those seeking health-focused travel experiences for years to come.

We express our sincere appreciation to Professor Dr. Yongyuth Sirivatanacharoen, Director of Siriraj Hospital, and Associate Professor Dr. Kaewta Muangkasem from Mahidol University for their exemplary leadership on the Accessible Wellness Tourism project.
